Description

We are a small, family-owned and operated cottage rental business. We love these homes, use them ourselves, and enjoy sharing them with kind travelers. Over the years, we've rented our cottages to many guests and worked hard to provide personal attention. We strive to make each cottage welcoming and easy to use for everyone. Our goal is to ensure your stay is hospitable—whether you're ice fishing in February or enjoying a family vacation in August. We want to make your experience GREAT!

Rural and lovely, these cottages are tucked into a quiet little cove on Lake Ontario. Surrounded by the peaceful, natural beauty of Beachwood State Park, we are blessed to be in a serene, rural setting. The area's main industry is fruit farming, with farm markets dotting the country roads. While the surroundings are beautifully tranquil, a short drive takes you to Sodus Point, NY, a charming small resort town. Enjoy the sandy public beach, lighthouse museum, marinas for boat rentals or rides, and waterfront dining—all easily accessible from our location.

Your property sounds like a truly peaceful retreat! With its natural beauty and location on a small cove on Lake Ontario, it offers a serene atmosphere that's perfect for those seeking relaxation and outdoor adventures. The giant pines, open space, and nearby hikes into Maxwell Bay/Creek and Beachwood State Park make it an ideal spot for nature lovers.

Bald & Golden Eagles and Herons fly over the cove and nest in the state park and point. Take a short hike to the Beaver Dam. Great for kayaks and canoes along the edge and into Maxwell Creek area.

Tons of space, the cottage has a huge yard. It is directly on an easily accessible beachfront. The cove and Maxwell Bay/Creek make small craft boating, as well as swimming, lovely.

Located on Lake Ontario ½ mile from nearest paved road. Over 100 feet of beachfront in your front yard. State park lands in your back yard. Wild, natural, secluded and peaceful.

Sit on one of two decks under huge maple, hemlock, and aspen trees and gaze out at Lake Ontario. Swim, boat and fish from hundreds of feet of secluded beachfront. Or hike in the 'back yard'; hundreds of acres of woods and orchards wild state lands featuring nesting bald eagles and Beaver pond.

Launch or rent a power boat at the Sodus Bay Recreation Area (2 miles away), or take a scenic drive to Rochester or the beautiful Finger Lakes (about 30 miles). Fishermen will delight in the abundant Salmon, Steelhead, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, and Trophy Lake Trout. Lake Ontario and Sodus Bay are renowned for prize-winning Bass, Walleye, and Perch. Birders will enjoy spotting Bald Eagles, Blue Herons, swans, and hummingbirds.

Transit

A car is necessary to visit this rural location. There are two or three gravel parking spots provided, with plenty of flat grass next to the gravel area to accommodate additional cars, boat trailers, etc. Our lakefront property features unusually large lots with ample space for a cottage.

Notes

The Sprongs Bluff area, a small cove nestled along Lake Ontario, is remote and beautiful. We love having a huge lot, stunning sunsets, and plenty of space. The small collection of cottages here is completely surrounded by NYS Forever Wild parkland.

The Ferry family has owned the cottage for nearly 40 years. It was a cherished retreat for our large and loving extended family, serving as Grandma and Grandpa's cottage until 2010, when they passed away and left it to my siblings and me. Eventually, we purchased two more cottages in the area, and we’ve been sharing them with one another—and now with you!

House Rules

Occupancy beyond the number of guests booked will incur an extra charge.

Quiet hours begin at 10 PM.

We are unable to accommodate parties due to insurance, parking, and various other requirements that parties entail.

Use of the bunk bed is not suitable for all guests, and we assume no responsibility for its use.

Surveillance cameras are located on the exterior of the property.

Dogs are allowed for a fee of $50 (maximum of 2 dogs). Please clean up after them in the yard. Dogs must be crated when not with you inside the house. Sheets are provided for use on the beds.

NO smoking of any kind inside the property or near the doorways. Smoking is allowed outside only.

84 feet of direct waterfront is available for use. Additional waterfront access is available at Sodus Point sandy beach, the state park, and other locations - For rentals shorter than a week, we kindly request a small donation to help replace life jackets, paddles, and oars. Please leave a donation of $20 - $30 if using the boats.

Swimming and boating are activities undertaken at your own risk.

A maximum of 5-6 adults can occupy the hot tub at the same time.

Hot tub usage is limited to 2 hours per 24-hour period. Each use is limited to 1 hour, and the 2 hours cannot be used consecutively.

Recycling is required. Separate bins are provided for recycling and garbage. Instructions can be found in the guidebook.

Forgotten items are kept for one week and may be returned at the guest's expense.

Cancellation Policy

If the booking is canceled more than 30 days before check-in, there is no charge. Cancellations made less than 30 days before check-in will incur a charge of 50% of the total.
